Clear Vinyl

For most screened porch window replacements, 10 gauge is the standard — it's the thickness included in our Porch Window Replacement Kit and used by professional porch window companies. If you want a slightly stiffer panel that holds its shape better, step up to 16 or 20 gauge. For marine canvas boat enclosures, 20–30 gauge is the most common range.

Both use Flexa marine vinyl, but the Flexa Pro+ is our top-of-the-line product with a Scratch Resistant+ coating that significantly extends the life of the surface clarity — preventing the micro-scratches that cause haze over time. The Pro+ is comparable to window glass in clarity. The standard Clear Vinyl Rolls are double-polished and excellent quality, but without the scratch-resistant coating.

Note: the Pro+ cannot be heat-welded or printed on due to the coating.

Never use ammonia-based glass cleaners like Windex — they degrade clear vinyl clarity over time. Use mild dish soap with warm water and a soft microfiber cloth. For oxidation or haze buildup, our Clear Vinyl Cleaner Kit is specially formulated for this material. Always rinse thoroughly and avoid rubbing with abrasive materials.

The blemished vinyl has compression lines, matte finish areas, or minor surface marks from the production process. These are purely cosmetic — there are no holes, tears, or structural defects. The material is fully waterproof and UV treated. It comes in pieces 1–3 yards long rather than a continuous roll. It's sold as-is with no returns. Perfect for applications where the vinyl is out of direct sightlines or where clarity isn't the primary concern.

Clear vinyl is sold by the linear yard. When you order 5 yards of 72"-wide vinyl, you receive a piece 5 yards (180") long by 72" wide. Full rolls are available at a per-yard discount. The Flexa Pro+ is sold as pre-cut sheets. Tarps and Porch Window Kits are sold as complete units. Minimum order on rolls is typically 1 yard.

All of our Flexa clear vinyl products are UV treated to resist yellowing. However, no vinyl is completely immune to UV degradation over many years of direct sun exposure. The Flexa Pro+ with its Scratch Resistant+ coating offers the best long-term clarity retention. Regular cleaning and occasional application of a UV protectant will extend the life and clarity of any clear vinyl product significantly.

Absolutely. Clear vinyl is a popular and cost-effective greenhouse glazing option. For most greenhouse applications, 16–20 gauge strikes the right balance of light transmission, durability, and flexibility. Our Clear Tarps offer a convenient pre-made option with grommets for easy hanging. If budget is the priority, the Discount Blemished vinyl works well in greenhouses where minor cosmetic imperfections won't be noticed.

Yes! We strongly recommend ordering samples before a large purchase — screens cannot accurately represent the true clarity, flexibility, and feel of clear vinyl. Order free clear vinyl samples here.

We accept returns on most new and unopened clear vinyl in original packaging within 30 days of delivery. We recommend opening one end slightly to verify the product before fully unwrapping. Cut yardage cannot be returned.
