Why clear vinyl?

A bright, warm skin for your growing space.

Clear vinyl glazing floods your greenhouse with the light plants crave while sealing in warmth and humidity. It's the affordable, flexible alternative to rigid panels — and unlike thin poly film, it won't shred in the wind after one season.

Marine-grade clear vinyl is the smart pick: it stays supple in the cold, resists UV yellowing and mildew, and cuts cleanly to fit hoop houses, lean-tos, cold frames, and custom frames alike. Roll it out, fasten it down, and start growing.

Bright, even light

High transmission keeps seedlings stocky and crops productive.

Holds heat & humidity

Extend your season and protect plants from frost overnight.

Weatherproof & tough

UV-stable and tear-resistant — built to last season after season.

Compare your needs

Which gauge is right for your greenhouse?

Gauge is the thickness of the vinyl. Thinner gauges transmit the most light; thicker gauges hold more heat and stand up to wind. Here's how they compare for glazing.

Gauge Light Clarity Insulation Best Climate Typical Use
12 Ga
~0.012"
Mild / South Season extension, cold frames, max light
16 Ga
~0.016"
Moderate The all-rounder — year-round veg & herbs
20 Ga
~0.020"
Cold / North Windy or cold sites, full winters
30 Ga
~0.030"
Extreme Harsh winters, tropicals, heavy structures

Not sure? Take the 30-second quiz and we'll recommend a gauge.

DIY Guide

Glaze your frame in an afternoon

No special skills required. With your vinyl, fasteners, and basic hand tools, most growers skin a small greenhouse in 2—4 hours.

01

Measure your frame

Measure each face of your structure and add a few inches on every side for wrapping and fastening.

02

Cut your panels

Roll our the clear vinyl and cut panels to size with a straightedge and a sharp blade or heavy scissors.

03

Fasten to the frame

Attach with batten strips, wiggle wire channel, or screws and washers — pulling each panel taut as you go.

04

Seal&vent

Seal seams and edges against drafts, then add a roll-up flap or vent so you can manage heat on sunny days.
